Aplicação da quitosana como bioproduto para o tratamento de lesões cutâneas: uma revisão integrativa das evidências atuais
Application of chitosan as a bioproduct for the treatment of kin lesions: an integrative review of current evidence

Resumo: O objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar e discutir as evidências científicas atuais sobre a aplicação da quitosana como bioproduto para o tratamento de lesões cutâneas, avaliando sua eficácia terapêutica, segurança, mecanismos de ação e possíveis limitações. Além disso, busca-se apresentar as diferentes formas de aplicação da quitosana em lesões cutâneas, como em curativos, membranas e hidrogéis, bem como suas propriedades físico-químicas e biológicas que favorecem a cicatrização da pele. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, realizada pela seleção de estudos indexados na Web of Science de 2013 a 2023. Utilizaram-se os termos orientados pelos Medical Subject Headings (MeSH): “Chitosan”, “Skin Lesions”, “Wounds”, “Healing”, “Biopolymer” cruzados pelo operador booleano AND e OR, os quais propiciaram 213 artigos que, após leitura de títulos e resumos, reduziram-se a 49 estudos e, posteriormente, a 21 após suas leituras na integra. Nesse viés, o trabalho pretende contribuir para o desenvolvimento de estratégias terapêuticas inovadoras e eficazes no tratamento de lesões cutâneas, levando em consideração a importância da quitosana como bioproduto promissor nessa área.
